The Challenge

The UN Climate Change Conferences bring together world leaders, journalists, and activists in high-pressure environments where technology failures make headlines. When systems go down at COP, it's not just an inconvenience—it's international news.

Our challenge: deploy and manage 52 Windows workstations across Egypt, Dubai, and Brazil—often with limited on-site access and unreliable conference WiFi. Traditional remote management tools weren't cutting it.

Our Approach

We built Flock Manager—a custom remote management interface on top of TacticalRMM. The goal was simple: do everything we'd normally need to do on-site, from 8,000 miles away in Vietnam.

The system lets us execute batch scripts across all machines simultaneously—Windows and Office activation, vMix trial resets, software installations. No more walking between workstations with a USB drive.

Browser-based remote desktop means we can troubleshoot any machine without VPN complexity. The queue system ensures no command gets lost when connections drop, with automatic retries for flaky conference WiFi.

The Result

Three consecutive UN Climate Summits with zero critical failures. When a workstation needs attention at 3 AM local time, we handle it from Vietnam without waking anyone up.

The system has become essential to our live event operations—what used to require a team of on-site technicians now runs with remote monitoring and intervention only when needed.
